As my journey in Independent Study and Mentorship continues, my interest in radiology continues to deepen, allowing me to learn new information and gain more knowledge.

This week, I had the privilege of reviewing my classmates' resumes and providing constructive criticism to them. This was valuable not only to them but also to me as it helped me improve my feedback communications skills and as well as taught me about diverse skill sets and accomplishments that are pertinent to various different fields.

In addition, I expanded my knowledge by creating another annotated bibliography with five credible sources, many of which were clinical studies. This time, I researched the effects of diagnostic imaging on cancer risk, which widened my knowledge on the specific effects of imaging technology.

Adding to that, another task I did this week was purchase professional attire for upcoming events and meetings. This was another step in my professional development and it will help me show other professionals my value as someone they could potentially mentor.

This week's research has brought up some questions about the effects of radiology such as how can we alter the use of diagnostic technologies to minimize cancer risks effectively? How do various skills contribute to the radiology field? and how can we continuously adapt to the radiology field’s rapid development?

Reviewing resumes presented me with the challenge of providing optimal feedback while maintaining a supportive and professional tone. I overcame this by offering suggestions for improvement when I identified issues and complementing the exemplary areas in a resume.

This week I was successful in many different areas. I was able to contribute and help give feedback to my peers to help myself and my peers grow. I was also successful in adding to my knowledge and expertise on radiology through researching and evaluating various sources.

In the coming week, I plan to refine my resume into something I will soon show my potential mentors. Additionally, I will add to my knowledge by doing even more research this time in a different aspect of radiology and about approaches to minimizing cancer risks through diagnostic technologies. Throughout the past week the new knowledge and experience I have gained have reaffirmed my passion in the field of radiology.
