This past week in ISM was the first week of the spring semester in school. I have just gotten back from winter break but before break I made some exciting progress in terms of getting a mentor.
In terms of my mentor, I was finally able to get one! Dr. Nicole Zipay from Parker University has accepted to be my mentor. She works as a professor in Parker University and she also works outside looking at MRI scans and such. I had her fill out the Frisco ISD applications and background check and I am currently waiting for FISD to approve her application before we schedule our first mentor visit.
In the coming week, I will begin to schedule mentor visits with Dr. Zipay after her application is approved. In addition, I will start writing assessments over what I learn from my mentor visits and I will also continue to write research assessments.
This semester I hope to get stronger at writing research assessments and I hope to learn much more about radiology from my mentor. I also hope to stay ahead on my assignments and complete them before the deadlines so I am not stressed later on.
Overall, in the past week and the coming week there has not been much work in ISM. However, I have begun to get ahead on my assignment in ISM and in other classes in order to set myself up for success in the future.
