The route to become a radiologist continues on in this week of Independent Study and Mentorship. As I delved deeper into the world of radiology, this week made many new discoveries.
One of the key accomplishments this week was the creation of my professional resume. This document not only showcases my skills and qualifications but also is a step in my journey towards a career in radiology.
Additionally, I composed a set of 15 interview questions to use at the day of our professional symposium where we will meet many different professionals. These questions will serve as the foundation for future encounters with professionals, allowing me to get insights and knowledge from their experiences.
The creation of an annotated bibliography focusing on radiology was also a great source of knowledge for me this week. This task deepened my understanding of the diverse aspects of radiology, from imaging technologies to their effects on patient care. It's interesting how the field constantly develops, and new technologies are created all the time.
This week's work raised questions about the developmental nature of radiology. Additionally, I questioned how the effects of radiation exposure on patients are continuously studied and mitigated to ensure safe medical practices.
While creating my resume, I faced the challenge of condensing a lot of information into a concise and impactful document. To overcome this challenge, I made sure to select the most relevant experiences and skills that align with my future goals.
Success this week was about completing multiple tasks that will help me during the ISM class. But it was also the knowledge that I took from learning how to create a resume, writing interview questions, and reading articles about my field of interest.
In the coming week, I plan to refine my resume ensuring that it captures the best of my work so far. Additionally, I aim to add more sources to my annotated bibliographies so I can learn even more information about radiology and imaging technologies. I plan to add to my knowledge next week and hopefully even more in the weeks to come.
