This past week in ISM has been very exciting and nerve racking at once. To begin, I have a research speech coming up next week and I have finally scheduled an interview.
Speech is one of my weak points so I have been practicing this one so it goes smoothly. I tend to get nervous and talk really fast during speeches. This also leads me to forget what I am going to say and leave out important information. For this speech I will be discussing the different types of radiologists, the different types of imaging technologies, and the issue of radiation overexposure.
Along with that, I have still been doing cold calls. Most of them don’t usually get back to me which I assume is because doctors are extremely busy. However, this week I have begun to call back to some place to follow up just to make sure they didn't forget to ask the radiologist if they are free for an interview.
I eventually got an interview with a doctor from Texas Radiology Associates. They contacted me through my number and it was a very exciting moment.
This week my success was definitely finally scheduling an interview. Next week, my main goal is to practice well and deliver a great research speech where I do not talk too fast.
Overall, This week in the ISM class was very exciting and I can’t wait to schedule more interviews and learn more from real professionals.
