Preparation Week (10.2.23)

This week of ISM has been full of learning opportunities and important preparations. I wrote a research assessment on radiation exposure this week to highlight the knowledge gap among doctors regarding radiation protection and its effects. This study showed me how crucial it is to spread knowledge of and instruction in this important area.

In addition, I spent the week preparing for the ISM Business Symposium, a crucial professional milestone on my ISM journey. These preparations included mock interviews with peers, which gave me important practice in developing my interviewing skills.

My research on radiation exposure and its knowledge gap among physicians raised many questions such as how healthcare education can be improved to bridge this gap and ensure the safety of both patients and medical professionals and how radiology professionals can actively contribute to addressing this concern.

Effectively managing my time between researching, writing and interview preparation was one of this week's biggest challenges. I overcame this by using effective time management strategies and prioritizing my work to make sure everything was done efficiently and effectively.

My success this week was gaining knowledge from my research and developing my interviewing abilities through practice. I came to understand how important it is to be able to properly ask and answer interview questions in the professional world.

Next week, my attention will be on the Business Symposium, where I hope to network with professionals and learn more about interacting with the professional world. I am looking forward to learning many things about my field and many others.

This week an area for personal and professional growth is my communication skills. I will continue to develop my communication school as they are extremely important in a professional interview setting and in my personal life.

Next week I am looking forward to attending the business symposium and expanding my horizons. Overall, this week has been another great learning opportunity which has made me more and more passionate about radiology as my ISM journey progresses.
