Research speech week (1.29.24)

This past week in the ISM has been dedicated towards working towards my final product. In addition, tomorrow is the day I will present my 20 minute research speech.

In the past weekend I have been working on my slides and researching information for my research speech. Since this is quite a long speech I needed to make sure it was very organized so I do not get off track during my presentation. During my speech I will discuss my primary research, secondary research, my original work brochure and research paper, and my idea for my final product.

Me and my mentor came up with a great idea for a final product which I have created a proposal for. Essentially, I will be creating a website that will be a comprehensive guide for senior citizens to navigate to their radiology and imaging procedure. This is because something we noticed was that lots of senior citizens are not getting the radiology and imaging procedures they need because of financial reasons or because they just do not have the transportation to make it.

I will be creating a product that will hopefully improve the health of senior citizens in my community by creating a tool that they can utilize to help them get the radiology procedures they need.

Overall, this week in ISM is nerve racking as well as exciting. I am nervous for my original work speech but also excited for the new final product project that I will begin. In addition, I am excited to continue working with my mentor as I am learning many new things.
