This past week of ISM has been full of new experiences and knowledge. I had my first interview, scheduled another, and have been working on my original work.
My interview was very interesting and I learned many new things. First, I learned a lot about the patient interaction that comes with radiology. Some radiologists don’t interact with patients much and some do on a daily basis. Either way the importance of it was definitely made clear.
In addition, after more cold calls I scheduled another interview. This one is a zoom call which will be different but I will be having the interview in the upcoming week. In preparation for the interview I have created a list of specialized questions to ask the radiologist. They are things that I am curious about as well as things that may help me with my original work.
This week I was very successful in scheduling interviews and completing many of my assignments. Next week I am looking to continue working to schedule another interview. I am also going to keep researching and finding new information about the different radiation technologies to incorporate into my original work pamphlet.
I believe by making these cold calls I have personally grown as I have learned to step out of my comfort zone and learn to reach out to people. Making calls like these is a skill I will continue to use in my future so it is essential. In addition, professionally I have grown by widening my network and contact through reaching out to radiologists for interviews.
